Today we went to an apple day at Stanmer park. The absolutely fantastic late september sun brought everyone out. There were not that many stalls but the setting was fantastic. There was a stall at which you could get your apples identified, another one promoting sussex orchards and the old sussex varieties. There were some great tea and cakes (all apple based of course) and lessons in milling and pressing apples. We later learnt that the cider man cancelled at the last minute so I’m sure that was a bit of a let down for many people.
